Precision Ag.  Applications in Uruguayan Agriculture Boom: research advances, police makers uses and farming innovations

The presentation will include particularities of Uruguay agriculture expansion occurred during the last decade and how precision agriculture technologies have been used in this context, including lessons learned  from research, police makers uses and farmers and producers applications and innovations.

Biography:
Dr. Terra has a Ph.D. from Auburn in Agronomy and Soils. He is the Research Program Director for Production and Environmental Sustainability at the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA) in Uruguay. His research interests include: Soil and water management and conservation; soil and crop spatial variability; soil management practices and landscape attributes interactions effects on crop productivity and soil quality indicators; precision agriculture; geographic information systems (GIS) applications in agriculture and natural resources management; residue quality/management impacts on soil physical and chemical properties; C and N dynamics in agricultural systems, especially sequestration of C in soil.
