Some of what is coming will be linear extrapolations of current trends. Think further automation in the area of navigation and telemetry. We may expect new sensors, new hardware, software and management support tools. The further & sustained results of Moore’s, Haitz's and Cooper’s Laws combined with data fusion will enable completely new concepts. The question remains: will we finally see… real time on-the-go soil sensing, real time crop health assessment, nano scale weed & pest control, intelligent templates for crop management and enclosed plant factories? Some of the future already exists now… in other industries.
